The Election Commission of India has announced the dates for the Lok Sabha elections. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that the Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases from April 19. Counting of votes will take place on June 4 By-elections to 26 assembly seats will also be held along with the Lok Sabha polls.

Assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim will be held on April 19 and in Andhra Pradesh on May 13. Elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases.
Bihar, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh will go to polls in all seven phases, the Chief Election Commissioner said at a press conference along with the two new Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu.
Lok Sabha schedule
The first phase: On April 19, 102 seats in 21 states and Union Territories will go to polls.
Second phase: Polling will be held in 89 seats across 13 states and Union Territories on April 26.
The third phase: Polling will be held in 94 constituencies across 12 states and Union Territories on May 7.
The fourth phase: Polling will be held in 96 constituencies across 10 states on May 13.
The fifth phase: On May 20, elections will be held in 49 seats in eight states and union territories.
The sixth stage: Polling will be held in 57 seats across seven states and Union Territories on May 25.
The seventh stage: Polling will be held in 57 seats across eight states and union territories.
When will the 15 Lok Sabha seats go to polls?
Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency, Gandhinagar, will vote in the last phase on June 1. Home Minister Amit Shah’s constituency, Wayanad to go to polls on May 7: Amethi, Rahul Gandhi’s constituency, goes to polls on April 26. Union Minister Smriti Irani’s seat, which goes to polls on May 20, is Vidisha: Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will contest from Lucknow on May 7. Thiruvananthapuram: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s constituency will go to polls on May 20. From here, sitting Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar are in the fray. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to contest from Karnal on May 7 Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will contest from Haridwar on May 25. Former Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat to contest from Nagpur on April 19 Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s seat, voting on April 19 in Mumbai North: Union Minister Piyush Goyal is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from this seat for the first time. Hamirpur: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s seat will go to the polls on April 26. Union Minister Anurag Thakur’s seat, voting in North East Delhi on June 1: Sitting BJP MP Manoj Tiwari’s seat, which goes to polls on May 25, will also see by-elections in 26 seats across 13 states
Along with the Lok Sabha elections, 26 assembly constituencies in 13 states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana and Gujarat, will also go to polls. By-polls in the respective states will be held on the same day as the Lok Sabha elections. Of these, six seats are in Himachal Pradesh, five in Gujarat and four in Uttar Pradesh.
The Lok Sabha elections were last held on March 10, 2019. The elections in the state were held in seven phases. The first phase of polling was held on April 11, while the last phase was held on May 19. The counting of votes took place on May 23.
He visited all the states to take stock of the situation.
The Chief Election Commissioner said that all preparations have been made to hold the elections in a fair, transparent and peaceful manner. Before announcing the dates, the Commission visited all the states and took stock of the situation and accordingly made preparations along with the poll dates. This time, there are about 97 crore voters for whom 10.5 lakh polling stations have been set up. Over 1.5 crore polling officials have been deployed for the smooth conduct of the polls. Over 55 lakh Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used for the polls. The commission has also appointed 2,100 observers to monitor the polls.
