Ameen Sayani: Like Amin Sayani is not speaking Hindustan!

This is the matter of those days when a license had to be taken to keep a radio in the house. Emergency had set in and my father had decided to quit his government job and teach English to village children in Class 11 and Class 12. As a child, coming out of the convent school in Jodhpur to the primary school near the village, Colva, was an ‘unearthly’ experience, in which every week the opportunity to watch a movie with elder brother, mom and dad was missed, and many other things were left behind. But, one of my favourite things that Dad brought from Jodhpur was the radio. The whole Sunday just the radio and me. The film trial of S Kumars had become my favorite program and then it was known that there is a station which can smell the fizz from new film songs if it catches the radio.
