Elaborating on his debut Test experience, Sarfaraz said after the end of the day’s play, “After going in, I was nervous on the first few balls but I practiced and worked so hard that everything fell into place.Sarfaraz said runs and performances don’t matter to him as much as playing for India to watch him with his father. “It was my father’s dream to play for India but unfortunately for some reason it didn’t happen, then there was not much support from home. He worked very hard on me and is now doing the same with my brother. It was the proudest moment of my life.”

Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. Earlier, India got off to a poor start as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for just 10 runs. Shubman Gill could not even open his account in this match and returned to the pavilion at the score of zero. After Gill, Rajat Patidar was dismissed for five runs. India lost the match by 33 runs.
But then Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja put on a 204-run partnership for the fourth wicket to pull the team out of a difficult situation and put them in the driving seat.
